I couldn't find any websites that told me what the top selling board games were so I came up with a list of my own. I went to three different websites and gathered information. I then made a chart and I wrote down the name of the game and what place it came in (1st, 2nd, 3rd,etc...). Then I did the same thing for the other web sites. I then gathered all the information and sought out to find what was 1st and then what was 2nd and then continued on from there. I came up with:
.Chess. I have a feeling this is the number one game sold ever because it's been around for so long. Almost everyone knows how to play it. Its a bit tricky to learn but you catch on and it becomes easier.
.Checker. I think this one is like number one. Its number two because it has also been around for a while.I would have thought this would have been the number one most sold game because its so easy and fun to play.
3. Monopoly. I wasn't very surprised when I found this game to be on the top ten list because this game has also been around for a while but not near as long as the first two. This game almost everyone has, it is very fun. It is also very easy to learn.
.Scrabble. Scrabble is a very hard game to play. I still love to play it but it does require a lot of thinking. Scrabble is a board game in which players use lettered tiles to create words in a crossword fashion. If you love puzzles then this game would be good for you.
.Clue. Clue is the game where someone has just been murdered and you play as one of the characters and you go from room to room trying to find out who done it. The murderer is one of the players and the players don't know who it is.
.Risk. This game has all the countries on the board. You start out with a few of the countries and a small army and then try to take over the world. This game could be a short game or it could be a really long game.
.Game of Life. This game in my opinion is a very fun game. You start off while your in college and then you move around the board until you get to the retirement homes. But along the way to get to the retirement homes you earn money and babies and a wife/husband, and you get a career, and earn money.
.Settlers of Catan. Now, I've never played this game so I had to do some research on it. Players assume the roles of settlers, each attempting to build and develop holdings while trading and acquiring resources.
.Othello. This game is a very complicated game. If you would like to learn how to play go to http://www.cs.vassar.edu/~weltyc/oldcourses/265.98f/assign/othello/rules.html
.Battleship. This game is a very fun game. It's a two player game where you cant see the other players side and you have to guess where the opposing players battleships are by guessing the coordinates.
